UW Policy Admin Sr Product Specialist

Project Description:

Client’s Product Management team is seeking a consultant with expertise in Underwriting policy administration systems to support modernization and transformation efforts. This role will be responsible for guiding strategy, shaping product direction, and ensuring operational and technical alignment across our policy administration ecosystem.

 We are looking to bring on senior‑level talent with 5–10+ years of experience in product management, underwriting policy, or related business analysis roles, ideally within the worker’s compensation insurance space. The consultant will help define product roadmaps, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure that our policy administration capabilities evolve to meet business needs with clarity, consistency, and long‑term architectural integrity.

Scope of Work

  1. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current policy products and identify areas for strategic enhancement.
  2. Develop a strategic plan for the development and enhancement of policy products.
  3. Align policy products with the product vision client’s business objectives.
  4. Implement strategic changes and enhancements to policy products.
  5. Monitor and report on the progress of product enhancements and alignment with business objectives.


Product Development & Execution

Lead Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including ideation, scope definition, development, testing, and deployment.

May define Requirements: Produce detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Stakeholder Management: Regularly brief senior management and internal stakeholders on project status, ROI, and roadmap adjustments.

Evangelize Product: Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product, working with Sales on go-to-market strategies and providing product training.

Data-Driven Decision Making and customer Focus

Analyze Performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as user retention, revenue, and feature adoption, to inform product decisions.

Voice of the Customer: Gather feedback from customers, partners, and user research to validate product concepts and enhance the user experience (UX – DX)

Experimentation: Design and run A/B tests to optimize product performance and conversion rates.

Leadership & Mentorship

Mentor Staff: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior product managers to support their career growth and improve product team capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in a fast-paced software/tech environment.

Deep understanding of Underwriting product development •

Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.

Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Analytical Skills: Expert in data analysis tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Tableau, SQL).

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

AI – Has managed portfolio using artificial intelligence while maintaining HITL at all times
