Computer Vision / Image Processing Specialist (Phase 2)

Role Overview: The Computer Vision Specialist designs and implements the image-based parts identification pipeline for Phase 2. This role is engaged on an as-needed basis during Phase 2 and provides subject-matter expertise on image ingestion, model selection, training / fine-tuning, and match-ranking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the quality and coverage of the spare-part image dataset in SharePoint; define labeling and metadata remediation needs.
  • Design the image ingestion pipeline: intake, preprocessing, feature extraction, and indexing.
  • Select and implement the appropriate vision approach (Azure AI Vision, custom Florence / CLIP-based embeddings, or fine-tuned classifier).
  • Build the top-5 match ranking with user confirmation UX, and integrate downstream SAP draft-order creation.
  • Instrument the pipeline with accuracy, precision, and recall metrics; drive iterative tuning cycles.
  • Document the pipeline for handoff to Client’s Data Science team.


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in computer vision / image ML, including production deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AI Vision, Custom Vision, or equivalent cloud CV services.
  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and image-embedding-based retrieval.
  • Experience integrating vision pipelines with business applications (ERP, inventory, or catalog systems).


Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with multimodal LLMs (GPT-4o, Gemini) for visual reasoning tasks.

Background in industrial / spare-parts identification or catalog matching domains.
