Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support a large-scale, on-premise enterprise environment across multiple sites in the Phoenix metro area. This role is highly hands-on, focusing on network, systems, and data center infrastructure, with responsibility for maintaining and supporting critical operational environments.

The ideal candidate is a technical generalist with strong experience across networking, infrastructure, and data center operations, who is comfortable working directly with hardware, traveling between sites, and supporting mission-critical systems in a regulated, high-safety environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for network, systems, and infrastructure environments across multiple sites
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment, including Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewalls
• Support data center operations, including racks, cabling, power, cooling, and hardware installations
• Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware) and supporting infrastructure
• Support backup, recovery, and data protection solutions (e.g., Cohesity or similar)
• Monitor and support systems using tools such as Splunk and ManageEngine
• Perform patch management, system updates, and maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across network, compute, and storage layers
• Follow and support ITIL-based processes, including incident, change, and problem management
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational stability
• Support infrastructure deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or network engineering roles
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Cisco networking technologies
  • Palo Alto firewalls (or similar enterprise firewalls)
• Experience supporting data center environments (racking, cabling, power, cooling)
• Working knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms
• Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Splunk, ManageEngine)
• Understanding of patch management and system lifecycle processes
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and operational processes
• Ability to troubleshoot across multiple infrastructure domains (network, systems, hardware)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a hands-on, field-based role across multiple locations
• Must have a clean safety record and ability to work in regulated or industrial environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with backup and recovery platforms (e.g., Cohesity or similar)
• Exposure to enterprise storage or compute platforms (Dell or similar)
• Experience supporting distributed or multi-site environments
• Background working in industrial, energy, or highly regulated environments
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, VMware, or security certifications)
