Senior AI Architect (Lead)

Role Overview: The Senior AI Architect serves as the technical leader and primary point of accountability for the engagement. This role owns architectural decisions across Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and non-Microsoft agent frameworks, sets the governance posture aligned to the Copilot Control System (CCS), and ensures all builds are secure, compliant, and operationally sound.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture across all agent use cases (Customer Service, QA, Accounting, Quality Engineering, Marketing).
  • Drive platform selection decisions (Copilot Studio vs. Azure AI Foundry vs. custom) based on capability fit, cost, and time-to-value.
  • Design the CCS-aligned governance framework: permissions model, publishing rules, DLP connector policies, audit logging, monitoring architecture, and promotion paths (personal → team → enterprise).
  • Lead the Microsoft Graph permissions architecture with least-privilege access scoping.
  • Provide compliance guidance on GDPR, SOC 2, and EU AI Act implications for agent design and deployment.
  • Conduct code and design reviews; mentor AI Engineers and ensure quality gates are met at each milestone.
  • Act as primary technical liaison with Client’s Infrastructure Lead, Data Scientist / AI Lead, and Project Sponsor.
  • Present architectural trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of enterprise software / cloud architecture experience, with 3+ years focused on AI/ML solutions in production.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in the Microsoft AI ecosystem: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Demonstrated experience designing governance frameworks for enterprise AI (CCS, Purview integration, DLP, audit).
  • Strong understanding of identity, access, and data-boundary design within Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce, SAP, and data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to C-level audiences.


Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • Microsoft certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or Copilot-specific credentials.
  • Prior experience standing up agent factories or Center-of-Excellence models for AI at scale.
  • Familiarity with EU AI Act classification frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience with non-Microsoft agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel).
